Xmas Kaszazz challenge

Kaszazz challenge for the team training day on Sunday had a Xmas theme so I quickly did this page for Amy's album from Xmas a couple of years ago.

L Plates

It's been a while since I posted as it's been a busy time for me - first a fantastic week in Sydney singing with friends with Sing Australia (taking lots of photos so plenty to scrapbook about later!) then back home packing to move and sick with a horrible cold :-(

Not much time to scrapbook so here is a layout I did a few weeks ago just before I started this blog - my 'baby' has her L plates now!!!  Hard to believe she is already 16 and learning to drive - where has the time gone???

Get Picky August Challenge #11

Loved the sketch for this month's Get Picky challenge and did a layout of Laura and her friend Lily using some new stamps, glimmer mist and butterfly masks.

Sketchy Thursdays 8.18 sketch/Amy's 18th cake

This page about making Amy's 18th birthday cake was done using sketch 8.18 from Sketchy Thursdays.  I decided to experiment with my Tattered Angels masks and glimmer mist for the background, and a Kaisercraft stamp I bought on the weekend which matched the purple paper I used for the 18th birthday album I made for Amy last year - I used a piece of the paper on the layout along with the black embossed paper too.  The cake took us over 12 hours to make - definitely worth a scrapbook page to remember it!

Acetate flowers card

Saw some great acetate flowers recently and thought I'd have a go at making some for a card.  Lots of fun playing and I really liked how they turned out.

Once Upon a Sketch

I saw this challenge at Once Upon a Sketch and I just had to participate - great sketch and the journalling criteria prompted me to do a page about my husband.

Journalling Criteria: Finish this line "A PERFECT DAY IS....." . Your journalling has to be at least 2 lines long, and with the theme of a whatever a perfect day for you is or a perfect day that you have had already e.g. a birthday, a holiday, a childhood memory, a wedding day, graduation day etc. Your journalling can be ANY type : handwritten, typed, etc...
You MUST combine our journalling criteria with this sketch...

So here is my  take on the sketch ...

and some of the details ...

Love to distress & ink the edges
Some cute stamps I have had for ages & not used
Close up of the journalling

I was pleased with how the layout turned out, especially as I always find it a bit of a challenge to do a masculine page as I generally add lots of flowers and bling and that doesn't really go on a guy page!

Get Picky / Sweet 16

Get Picky's   challenge this week is butterflies so I just had to enter this layout of my daughter Laura's 16th birthday.  Couldn't resist these BoBunny papers and chipboard elements - loving butterflies at the moment!  Laura suggested the crown, I think she was just joking, but I love it - she has always been a princess!!  More distressing and I'm really enjoying making the lace flowers as well as the paper ones.

Me & My Girls

This is a layout a did recently with a photo of me and my two daughters on Mother's Day this year.  I had lots of fun making the flowers, distressing and lots of stitching on this layout.

Welcome!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my blog! My name is Janet and I live in Perth, Western Australia, with my DH and two teenage daughters.  I love to scrapbook the lives of my family to look back on and enjoy the memories.  I've been scrapbooking for 9 years now and one of these days I'm sure I will manage to get caught up, but at the moment that day is still a long way off!  I love to look at scrapbooking layouts online so although I'm new to blogging I thought I would like to share some of my scrapbooking projects too.  Hope you enjoy looking.
